Miguel González-Leonardo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geography and Planning from the University of Valladolid and a Master’s degree in Regional and Population Studies from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). He was selected for the European Doctoral School of Demography (EDSD) 2019-2020, a European Master programme organized by the European Association for Population Studies (EAPS) in collaboration with seven European universities and five research centres.   Currently, Miguel works as a Pre-doctoral Researcher at the Centre for Demographic Studies (CED) and is part of a team working on the European project “Integrating Research Infrastructure for European expertise on Inclusive Growth from data to policy - InGRID-2”, and on the Spanish project “Demographic behaviours and residential strategies: notes to develop new social policies”. Since 2017, he has been enrolled in the Ph.D. Demography Program of CED and UAB with a FI Grant (Government of Catalonia and European Social Fund).   Miguel´s Ph.D. dissertation focuses on internal migration by educational attainment and brain drain in Spanish regions, although his research includes different topics of population geography, demography and regional studies: internal and international migration, shrinking cities, rural depopulation, population projection. During his undergraduate studies, he completed an internship in the Economic and Social Council of Castile and León (a regional institution of Spain). He also worked at UAB´s Department of Geography as Technical Support for Research in 2018, where he is currently teaching classes in Demography.
